CKRS Girls poke the Bears in victory
The Lady Knights rolled up another impressive victory against the Lady Bears of Delran Monday afternoon on Knights Field. The game featured 25 minute Varsity halves, instead of the usual 20 minute halves, but the CKRS girls didn't miss a beat having to play the extra 10 minutes of game time.
The CKRS Girls dominated the first half scoring four goals and controlling play throughout. Mia Soper had her first and second goals of the season in the victory. Caroline Holfelner, Elle Kilgannon, Josette DeGour and Kayla Dever also added goals in the win. Mackenzie Clark was in goal for the Lady Knights and earned her first win of the year.
Next up is road game against Cinaminson on Thursday afternoon.
Lady Knights roll onto victory against NEETA
In a slight drizzle and showing no effects of playing back to back games, the CKRS Lady Knights continued their impressive offense with a 5-0 victory against NEETA School in Medford Lakes on Thursday. Isabella Farnoly had a pair of goals and Josette DeGour, Amelia Niven and Madeline Zeuli each scored in the victory. It was Amelia and Madeline's first goals of the season. The Lady Knights continued to have great goaltending allowing only 4 goals in the teams five matches.
The girls will have a busy week coming up with tough games on Monday against Delran on Knights Field and at Cinnaminson on Thursday. Team photo day is Tuesday afternoon starting at 4:30 on Knights Field. Practice to follow.
Kayla Dever scores four goals to lead win over Northern Burlington
Kayla Dever had four goals and got the game ball to lead the Lady Knights in a resounding 6-1 victory over Northern Burlington County on a warm and humid afternoon on Knights field. Elle Kilgannon and Caroline Holfelner also scored in the CKRS win. Sabrina Nobel had another strong game in goal for the Lady Knights.
The girls come right back Thursday with a road game against NEETA School in Medford Lakes.
Lady Knights fight hard and eventually earn a corrected tie against WT
The Lady Knights first road game was hard played and certainly didn't lack for drama. With WT leading 1-0 at the half, Senior Isabella Farnoly scored early in the second half to tie the game. The score remained tied at one until the final seconds of the game. The official timekeeper counted down the final seconds of the game to zero. WT was pressing the CKRS goal in the last seconds, but after time was officially called WT scored a goal. Unfortunately the game official counted the goal which gave WT a 2-1 win.
After a lengthy discussion with league officials on Sunday, it was determined that "continuation of play" is not permitted in field hockey, hence the WT goal will not be counted against CKRS which will end the game in an amended 1-1 tie. The Lady Knights have a home game against NBC this Wednesday, which promises to be a hot game - like 92 degrees hot!
Field Hockey offense comes alive in home opener against William Allen
The Lady Knights scored early and often against William Allen (Moorestown) in a 7-1 victory in the girls home opener on Knights Field on Tuesday.
The girls scored five goals in the first half to take control of the game. The Lady Knights had strong goaltending throughout the game which helped secure their first conference victory.
CKRS scoring included Elle Kilgannon and Kayla Dever with a pair of goals and Josette DeGour, Isabella Farnoly and Curran Hall added goals in the win.
Next up for the Lady Knights is a visit to Gloucester County and a match against Washington Township on Thursday.
Lady Knights earn hard fought tie with Haddonfield
The CKRS Lady Knights battled hard in their first game against tough crosstown rival Haddonfield and came away with a 1-1 tie.
The Dawgs scored early in the first half, but the Lady Knights kept at it and Senior Elle Kilgannon tapped in the equalizer just before half time.
Both teams had opportunities in the second half, but some great goaltending kept the half scoreless and secured the tie.
The Lady Knights kick off 2019 league play this week with their home opener on Tuesday (9/24) against William Allen and a road game at Washington Township on Thursday (9/26).
